Rarer and older than ever, a masterful rum from the silent Caroni distillery in Trinidad. Powerfully tannic, oaky and wonderfully aromatic with its tarry notes and peppery intensity, it builds an austere powerhouse of medicinal herbs, coffee, liquorice and orange peel. In spite of this dark austerity, this release has an unusual juicy character too, thanks to the final 3 years of maturation in second fill Oloroso Sherry wood, which add an extra layer of winey complexity, richness and finesse.
